Disabled driver, wife forced to fly the airplane

A woman from Colorado who does not know how to fly was to take control of a single-engine aircraft, four-seater Cirrus prop after her husband driver had lost control of the aircraft and difficulty breathing may 17, according to a note from FAA leak on the incident.

Traffic authorities air lost radio contact with the aircraft as it lost altitude in dense clouds, led directly to the peaks of San Juan steep of the Rocky Mountains.

The woman finally radio controller after a 13-minute silence, saying: "Hang, hang on, I try to get him to automatic auto-pilote - I don't know how to do that," according to a memo from the events obtained by CBS Denver.

In a very serious scene from the film "Airplane!", a Great Lakes Airlines cruise nearby pilot then came on the radio to the coach of the women on the fly (pun intended).

Despite instructions, the woman was unable to wrestle the aircraft under his control - and prepared to shut off the engine to deploy a parachute built the aircraft, designed as an ultimate safety measure.

But before she had the chance to pull the rip cord, her husband recovered and resumed the controls, about 40 minutes tense after the start of the test.

He came just in time, the woman said: "I'm not a pilot." I could not landed. ?
